How long have you been tattooing?
I’ve been tattooing in the Atlanta area since 1989.
How did you get started?
I got tattooed by George “Dragon” Umbower at the Elektrik Dragon tattoo studio in Atlanta about two weeks after I turned eighteen. After that I was at his shop all the time. I had been doing tattoos on my own for a while, but I didn’t really get anywhere with it until George became my mentor. I use the skills and techniques I learned from George to this day.
What other creative outlets do you have?
When I am not at the tattoo shop, I probably have a camera in my hand. I enjoy landscape and travel photography, and I shoot portraits for friends when I get the chance. I am an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop Lightroom and I teach photography and Lightroom classes.
My next classes include a 2-day workshop in Atlanta with Rick Sammon and my Arenal Eco Adventure Photography Workshop in Costa Rica this September. You can find out more information and register online at DphotoA.com.
When are you in the tattoo shop?
I work at Timeless Tattoo Wednesday through Saturday from noon until 10:00 pm.
When do you take appointments?
I am available for appointments from noon until 10:00 pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I only do walk-ins on Saturday on a first-come-first-served basis.
How do I make an appointment?
The shop requires a $30 cash deposit to hold an appointment, so you will need to drop by the shop to get on the schedule. You can make an appointment any time the shop is open, 7-days a week. I am considering options for taking deposits with a credit card from this site. Please drop me a line and let me know if you think that’s a good idea.
How much will my tattoo cost?
There is really no way I can quote a price for a tattoo without a consultation in person. I charge $150 per hour for custom work, but many pieces are not priced by the hour. Even a “ball-park” figure is hard to estimate from descriptions or emailed photos.
Would you be interested in doing my [fill in the blank] tattoo?
YES! I do tattoos for a living, and I am experienced in everything from traditional American and Japanese styles to fine-line realistic tattoos. I have never told anyone that I’m not “interested” in doing their tattoo. I will be happy to take care of you!
